"I’m waiting and I won’t stop you. Hopefully then, you will finally let me be free of you. You’ll let me go. So, come and take it out on me. I’ll take whatever you’ve got. Whatever you want to do to me! And then, go away and never come back. So come and hurt me. I’m ready! I'm ready!"
In the wake of my ex-wife'S tragic death from complications dUe to an eating disorder, I faced a overwhelming mix of emotions. She was the mother of my son, once the love of my life, but also my abuser. As a single father already grappling with anxiety and PTSD, every day beCame a struggle to rebuild amidst the sHadows of grief and trauma. This collection of poetry, art, and music is my journey through grief, resilience, and the daunting task of reclaiming my life after abuse.

about the art & music
Like most art forms, poetry's interpretation can vary widely from person to person, often diverging from the artist's initial vision. Therefore, certain poems in this book are accompanied by bespoke art and/or music, all directly inspired by the themes and sentiments within the corresponding words, to heighten the immersive and emotional impact of the work. Throughout this collection, poetry, art, and music come together to explore grief and trauma. ReAders are taken on an emotional journey through seventy-three poems, twenty-one artworks, and six pieces of music, enhancing the experience and making it deeply engaging.
How the music works:
When you come across a poem featuring a musical element, you'll notice a small QR code positioned in the bottom right corner of the page. Scan this code using your smartphone's 'Spotify code scanner' within the app, and it will promptly play the original composition crafted for that piece.
